A spectator at the Scottish Open just waltzed up to Rory McIlroy's bag, grabbed a club, and started swinging on the tenth tee.
The star grouping had an unwelcome visitor on Day Two
In footage captured on social media, he former world no. 1 watched on in bewilderment alongside playing partner Jon Rahm as the man bizarrely interrupted the start of their second round.
Having taken the headcover off McIlroy's driver, the patron went back and nabbed an iron before the golfer and his caddie, blissfully unaware at first, realised something was up.
The competitors just stared at the man in confusion as he took a few practise swings, before security assigned to the group, which also includes Justin Thomas, stepped in and escorted him away.
McIlroy is preparing for The Open next week
The rebel spectator was then ejected from the course.
An onlooker told The Scotsman: "He was standing at the back of the tee and went over to Rory's bag, took out the driver [sic] and had a couple of swings with it.
"When someone told him that he couldn't do that, he replied by saying 'why not?' At that point, the security people assigned to following the group moved in and took him away."
David Wilson, a member of nearby club Kilspindie who posted the footage, added: "He was quickly dealt with. The players laughed it off, saying they knew he wasn't a golfer when they saw his grip."
